Thanks so much for your help.
I have done lots of research and since he is 2 years old, they say that getting him fixed may not help his marking territory.
He does it outside, which doesn't bother me. He will put his cute little leg up, even when no pee comes out.
I don't understand why he does it in the house. I have only had him one day (I adopted him yesterday) and he has marked his territory 2-3 times in the house. But he holds it all night from like 11 pm till 8 am. So it's weird.
Also, he pees with his leg up. And when he does, its on a pole, tree, rock, etc. He does such a little at a time.
So my two big questions are:
1. How and will he stop marking territory in the house (we don't want him fixed now, in case we want to breed later on)?
2. How do you know when he is finished peeing, if he only does little spirts? I feel like I watch him a few times and when no pee comes out after a couple times, I think he is done. But to me, I think he needs to go more than that. And just from everyone's experience how often do you let your dogs out to walk and do their business? I think Buddy is on a good schedule now, but I am just curious. |
