Vets are not properly trained in nutrition, so they typically recommend foods like science diet, iams, purina, etc. which are full of allergens and things that can upset their digestive systems.

Do some research online about dog food ingredients. By-products are in all of those foods I mentioned, and if you know what those are, you would never feed them to your dogs. Also, high allergen ingredients are in these foods.

Wellness seems to be a good food and Natural Balance allergy formulas (potato and duck, fish and sweet potato, etc.) are good too. I believe you can find both of these foods at Petco. The ingredient list is much better for both of these foods.

Good luck!!

You can "mask the symptoms" with meds and things like that, but that does not get down to the bottom of what's actually causing the problems. The cause is what needs to be eliminated.
