Hello, I'm glad your enjoying this forum and getting useful information!.....I didn't see in your post if your Buddy is neutered or not. If not it would help out with the marking. I have three boys and this helped tremendously!
As for the leaving little bits of pee here and there when your out walking it is perfectly normal. Whenever I let my boys out to go they must do this on about 4 different things in the yard. They will go right behind each other doing it on top of the others mark, I guess you could say they are having a peeing war with each other.
If your Buddy continues to do this in the house you could use belly bands on him to discourage him from doing this...... Good luck.....
