There are a lot of different ways to count cards...
The most popular is 2-6 are a +1 and the 7,8,9, are netural, and the 10, J, Q, K, are a -1. The A's are counted seperate..just keep track. So when the deck is a +7, that means that it would be rich in little cards....

Yes, the count still works with the shuffle machines, and with 6 decks or what ever. You just make adjustment in the count for the number of decks used. Hope this helps.
