Oh that is small, you will probably have this problem for the rest of her life. When a dog runs around, they use their energy reserves quickly, she probably doesn't have any fat to hold extra calories, and one of the symptoms of hypoglycemia is shivering. I think you would be better off feeding more often. Remember Nutri-cal is just sugar, and if given without following with food it can cause the blood sugar dip again. It's like eating a candy bar, if you have low blood sugar, it helps temporarily, if you're feeling faint, but without protein to stabilize the blood sugar, the candy or Nutri-cal can raise insulin levels too much and cause another attack of hypoglycemia.
