It happens, but it is NOT appropriate. Do you have an HR or personnel department/person you can speak with? I would confront him politely and say you are trying hard but you have been asked to do a job that you were not hired for and was not trained for. Say you are happy to do it but you would appreciate some more training. I would also politely say that you do not feel it is appropriate for him to call you a dumb sh--t.
