Please help with agression issues!!! Hi everyone,
I am looking for help as I have tried everything I know to do and am not getting any results.
Here is the history. Tink is my 2 year old female yorkie. In March we added Jasmine, now 9 months old, to our home. I have never had an issue with aggression between the two of them.
September 17th Jasmine has major surgery. Femoral head osteotomy, hysterectomy, dew claw removal and her baby teeth had never fallen out so they removed those also. She spent the night at the vet and came home with the cone and bandages. When I brought Jasmine home, Tink sniffed her and was ok for a few moments and then went bullistic on Jasmine, grabbing her by the neck near the cone. In separating them, she bit me (again which she has never done). I kept them separated and was talking to the vet about this issue. We were under the assumption it was the cone. I used a baby gate to keep them separated but the could see and sniff each other.
The cone has since come off of Jasmine, stitches removed and well healed. Worked on reintegration, etc.
Tink is still, not constantly, but whenever a quick movement is made by anyone attacking Jasmine. There has never been blood drawn, but she gets a good hold around the neck area. I grab her by the scruff to break it up and they are both coming off of the floor, so I know it is a tight grip. The baby is screaming, Tink is growling. When I get it broken up, Tink goes directly into the crate for a "time out".
Any ideas of how to stop this???!!! I am at the end of my rope and Jasmine starts to shake as soon as Tink comes anywhere near her. Any suggestions are greatfully welcomed and thanks ahead of time for the great advice I know I will get.
Thanks
