I'm going to a Petfest this afternoon with my therapy dog, Cosmo. He's a 12-pound Bichon Frise. I will let him walk some, but will pick him up if it gets crowded. There will also be other animals/dogs there and I won't allow another dog to just walk up to him. I have a stroller and it is great in situations like this. I won't take it out of the car at first, but if it gets crowded, I'll get it out, put Cosmo in it and control who comes up to him and touches him. He's a therapy dog and used to being petted and hugged, etc., and he loves it, but I'm particular about other animals coming up to him. Everyone can pet him and that's fine, but I want to be in control for his safety.
