I agree with the vet. I don't think it is the turtle causing this because you do take so many precautions. If we shouldn't be around salmonella at all, then we wouldn't be able to touch raw chicken. Some dog kibble is thought to be contaminated with it also.
Have you tried some kind of bran cereal?
It might work and maybe it would be a bit easier on her stomach than pumpkin but it sounds like that is what you will need to resort to.
