She is a puppy, dear, they get distracted. Before getting Zander, I bought books, Yorkies for dummies, other yorkie books to learn as much as I could, researched on the internet, tricks, commands, potty training. Here is what I learned .... a treat will get them to do anything.

1st teach come, I would sit in the living room, Zander on the leash, my son would hold him, I would sit across from them, holding the other end of the leash, I'd say come, my son would take his hands off Zander, if Zander didn't come, I would gently reel him in (the leash) repeat - come and give a treat, practice this, hopefully yours will get it quickly.

If that does not work for you, show her that you have a treat in your hand, walk around the house with it, she should be following, say good girl - come! give her the treat, it can be a tiny cheerio, nothing big or heavy.

The distractions when walking .. when walking in the streets Always use a leash .... the behavior is sort of normal for them, Jazzie is 1.50 and she thinks all people, dogs anything that moves is her friend and she gets nutty, pulls. Just keep walking, perhaps say good girl walk, come on.. keep walking The more you walk her, she will come to realize what is expected of her on a walk. When I brought Jazzie home, she wanted to run onto the grass to sniff, I taught her that when we walk we walk on the concrete sidewalk, after walking 3 houses or so from my home I gear them over to the grass and tell them to go potty (I name it- go pipi or go poo), and they do. If one of them is not ready to go, we walk a little more in the same manner then we stop, gear them to the grass and try again.

The grass sounds like perhaps she needs greens in her food?, not sure .... Jazzie eats, innova adult, Zander has a more sensitive tummy, he eats california naturals..

I hope this helps some.
