All dogs are different. I can tell you that we neutered Bobby a month ago and he has stopped all marking. I think that neutering is a good choice regardless if you are not going to breed. And now is better than later. I think we should have neutered Bobby alot sooner. He is 16 months. Prior to his surgery I could tell he was acting differently, he would get really anxious around other dogs and try to mount them. And he would try and get out of the house, I think they call it roaming.
Neutering has not changed his personality but he is alot calmer around other animals, doesnt mark anymore (I am not sure if he will still mark when we are at another home with animals) and he doesnt try to get out anymore.
