zenzele, thank you for your wisdom. It is so meaningful to have the benefit of other's experiences and their feedback on a situation.

I do have to say, I am worried about being a 'single parent' to the dogs. Not that the jerk did all that much, but I guess there was a security in having 'backup'.

The stress of moving and my anxiety has gotten to them. Louis my Cavalier has chewed on his leg, leaving a little raw spot and my yorkie mix Ella Bean is crying all the time!

What can I do to help them through this as well? I know they are feeding off of my stress and anxiety...
