There are somethings that I agree with and some that I don't. The correct stop and topline I agree with but don't see the need for the folded ear. Before they were breeding for an erect ear they were cropping to make them so. I would much rather breed for a prick ear than cut any day. I wouldn't mind leaving the tails natural. They had both the small and the larger sizes originally so I don't see why we should breed to bring them all above 7 pounds. I hate to see them being bred down so small but 23 pounds is hardly a toy dog. As far as cutting the hair, it wouldn't hurt my feeling to not have to wrap and worry about them getting their facial furnishings messed up if they want to chew on something. Coat care can put alot of stress on both owner and dog, getting a hair cut really seems to free them up. I'd like to see the documentation that they have on the 1920's dog which made them decide on these standards. Personally, I like my yorkie elegant.
