I've survived two rounds of layoffs in the newspaper business. They cut 10% of the workforce a couple months ago, then cut another 10% recently. I feel bad for those who lost their jobs. They got buyouts, but that's a small consolation in the job market these days. Many of the people laid off have had to settle for less elsewhere. Hopefully, the economy will turn around soon.
