I read that some of you mentioned "cowboy magic" is this a detangler? Can I use it as a conditioning type spray or no? Are there any really good sprays or conditioners that anyone can suggest? We bought a Paul Mitchell Conditioning Spray when we first got our puppy and I used it often when I would brush her, but I guess it didn't work that well. Has anyone had any experience with any of the Paul Mitchell pet products?
My last question....what actually is a "puppy cut"? I want to keep our puppy nice and short, but not shaved. I cannot wait for her hair to grow back in! It's so cute when it's fluffy!
Again, thanks for all your help! I'm learning so much from everyone. |
I'm sorry, I think you missunderstood, no one said a slicker brush, it will rip their hair out, it's made for a dogs with an undercoat. Get a pin brush. Try to find a good one that doesn't scratch your arm when you brush it on your arm, the good ones have smooth tips. Don't get rounded plastic tips seen on human hair brushes this can break the hair. I really like the Madden Brush:
Madden Brushes for Dogs. Your baby should love being brushed and if the brush your using will hurt you, it will hurt your Yorkie.
The puppy cut means several things, usually the hair on the body, is about an inch or two, and sometimes they have a topknot with that cut and sometimes they don't. You might want to read the grooming forum for tips on shampoos and conditioners. Cowboy Magic is a great detangler, but I don't think it's a conditioner.
Walmart has a great metal comb, called a flea comb, that is perfect for their mustache, and facial hair, it's metal, so when they bite it, it doesn't bend.
