This is how I did it...
have him sit for a treat and say sit pretty while you hold your bent arm in front of him. He will probably put his paw on your arm anyway, if he puts just one take hold of his other paw and put it on your arm. Or he will probably put both. Once he does this, say Sit Pretty. It will take a few times with you putting your arm out. Oh and when you give the treat, hold it right in front of his eyes and bring it up just slightly so he has to stretch to get it but not enough to where he stands on his hinds. If he does, just back down a little. Of course, then he gets treat and say sit pretty again. Good luck. I want to try and just use a hand signal like celstu1 said her dog followed.
