need advice Last year we bought a choc. teapot male yorkie from Robbie Harris in La Harbra Heights, CA. I do admit we did not do the research. Some may say that this was an impulse buy. I do believe Chunk is meant to be with us. He had been a joy and huge blessing in our lifes as well as his 2 sisters, Gertie, a pom-chi, and Molly, a bassett hound. At 9 mos, Chunk was diagnosed with Retinal Degeneration. The eye specialist said it was a genetic illness. At 18 mos he is completely blind, but he does fine. We do have to take extra care of him. I emailed the breeder to inform her that the dogs she is breeding carry this genetic defect. She said that no one has every notified her of this before. I really find this hard to believe, but I guess anything is possible. I really didn't think anythin about it until my daughter found Robbie's videos on youtube advertising more choc yorkies. We bought Chunk last year for $700 and now she is selling them for $950 and according to the videos she had at least 3 seperate litters. She told me she bred as a hobby. I think she is doing it for the money. Should I do anything about this. Not everyone is willing to have a dog that is blind. Remember this is not revenge because we love our Chunk. Pls advise.
