I go there quite often & I would definitely prefer a cabin over a condo. It is one of my favorite times just to get away & relax in a nice cabin! It really depends on the cabin group you go with if you will be far up in the mountains or just a little far up with other cabins in sight. It depends on what you want. There are some nice condos also, but I just personally prefer a cabin. As far as the weather during the winter, it may be freezing cold and then on the other hand, it may be 60 degrees. Our winters have been kinda crazy the past 3-4 years. We never know what to expect, so just keep a watch out on the weather before you leave to know what to bring.
