Default Biting Golden Retrievers Ankles!

So I have a weird problem that I just can't figure out...

Lexi, our 10 month old Yorkie has been trying to bite our Golden Retriever's (Lucy) ankles when Lexi is inside and we let Lucy in from the backyard. This has been going on for a couple weeks now, but I always assumed it was playful... until this morning.

Lexi hasn't been feeling well due to a food change. (Thread) and before I left for work this morning Lexi full on attacked Lucy's ankles and actually hurt her! I had to pull her off!

Lucy and Lexi are best of friends, they haven't really had any problems. Lucy is 13 years old and always plays with Lexi, she is so gentle with her. Lexi also see's her as a form of protection, when playing with the year old Doberman she will take cover beside Lucy knowing the doberman won't go there.

Lexi won't bite the ankles of the other 2 dogs when they enter the house, just Lucy. It boggles my mind because she is always so friendly towards everyone, and every animal she meets.

So any suggestions on why Lexi is trying to bite Lucy when she comes inside? Perhaps it's a territorial thing? I'm not sure.

Thanks!
