I'm so sorry for what your grandmother and your family are going through! My great grandma moved in with us when I was 8 due to her Alzheimers. Over the course of the next 6 years she progressed to much the same point as your grandmother (wandering and aggressive). It was really hard for us because we had to be "on watch" all the time. My great grandma mostly wandered at night so we had to set up a system with bells on her door in case she tried to leave and even then she still made it out to the yard twice before anyone realized it. She got terribly agressive with my grandfather (her son in law) and tried to stab him with a pair of scissors she found and hid.
