Any ideas or am a fool for not taking him to the vet immediately.. from years of running to the vet when it was something similar only resulted in being told he just has an upset stomach. But I will feel terrible if it is something worse.

oh poor little man. Because it is coming out BOTH ends.. i'd say get him to the vet now.... he is probably VERY low on fluids and this could turn worse... fast....
