Default Pet Shop Yorkie

After learning so much here about pet shop pups, I always feel so bad for the animals there. I was at a mall the other day looking for a new outfit. I passed by this pet shop I'd never seen before. They had just opened.

I walked into the store and watched the employee take a yorkie out of its glass cage and carry it up to the area they have to show pups off in the front window. First, she didn't even look at the pup or pet it or anything. She just carried it up there so coldly. I asked her if I could see the yorkie. She got the pup out and handed it to me. I petted it and talked to it and it started licking my face. The lady said Oh dont let it do that. I gave it back, and it went back in the window (no toys, just shredded paper). The puppy was just whining. I felt so bad. I don't understand how this can be good for puppies.

In the back, they had the glass front cages with two puppies in each cage. It was very clean, but I felt so bad. I bet these puppies are alone all night long every night. It broke my heart. I wonder if the pet shop people even play with them.

Im so glad I know Triss wasn't treated like this. It makes me feel better knowing that she was loved and cuddled even before I got her. I also feel better knowing who the breeder was and the parent dogs. I guess some dogs are just luckier than others. I wish it weren't this way.
