Hi Meeker, Yorkies are known for dental problems, if you have not had her teeth cleaned by the vet you should check with your vet. My Yorkie had such bad breath to come out of such a pretty face, turned out she had gingivitus
and had to get 3 teeth pulled, she's 5 yr old. I got her nine months ago got her teeth cleaned shortly after getting her; and now am having to take her again for a 2nd cleaning because of her stinky mouth...and she loves to lick my face!
My vet said Yorkies are like people some people are prone to gum disease and need cleaning more frequently. Just be sure that who ever does the cleaning, they are skilled in giving anesthia to a small dog like a Yorkie. My Yorkie weighs 4 pounds but she did fine with the anesthia and the vet also gave her antibotics after the cleaning.
