I guess you see that the consensus is that Yorkies do not ever stop following you, and yes they will wake up and follow you...dogs are light sleepers. It's their pack nature and definitely a yorkie trait to follow you. If your Yorkie is not following you then you'd better go check on her because she's definitely getting into trouble! Yorkies want your constant companionship! My Yorkie is 5 years old, I've had her for nine months. Enjoy your baby, you'll never find another living creature with such unconditional love for you!!
