I have to take the other side . I don't think beet pulp is good. Most premium dog foods are moving toward using Inulin, Chicory Pulp, psyllium or other sources of fiber.

Beet pulp has a ratio of soluble to insoluble fiber of 3-4:1; chicory pulp's is 1:1. It's no wonder that beet pulp causes slowed digestion (even fermentation and rancidity is reported). The 1:1 ratio is much more appropriate for regularity.

Also, chicory pulp has a prebiotic factor (the inulin component) that is an advantage far and that of beet pulp. To me, beet pulp shows NO ADVANTAGE, and in fact a DISADVANTAGE for dogs.
