Absolutely!....I'm a groomer and a breeder. Hair left in the ear canals trap water in, subjecting the ear to the greater possibility of an infection......I use a hemostat.....tweezers will do....you might need assistance in having someone hold your dog for you....I usually do this before bath.....then after the bath, before drying, I use a cleansing solution with a drying agent (Vet Solutions purchased through Revivalanimal.com....then use a make-up remover pad to swab the entire ear to wipe and clean up any residue.
