Joan B. Gordon and Wildweir bloodlines and those New and Old to Yorkies I was gave the opportunity to read some e-mail that was posted to member of YT by a fellow member of YT. I was very upset with the amount of misinformation.
Joan B. Gordon of the Wildweir kennels is very much still alive and doing well.
She is rather elderly but she has been out in the ring once in a while in the past few years. SHE HAS NOT BEEN DEAD FOR A LONG TIME. She lives in the Chicago area. Her twin Sister Janet E. Bennet had passed on to Yorkie Heaven. Nancy Donavon who also bred under Wildweir is still very much alive although not doing much in the way of bredding. Both Nancy and Joan co-owned The top 7 winning Yorkie of all Breed through November of 2001 Durrer's Preferred Stock with Betty Durrer.
If you do pedigree research you will find that many of you can trace the Wildeir bloodlines in your pedigrees. They made a tremendous impact on the breed with the yorkies that they imported and those that they bred. They loved the breed and had a great understanding of genetics. I was blessed to have known those folks and to have been able to watch, talk and learn from them.
Newbies- please be very careful when you start using the Private messages to talk with folks or your e-mail. There are a lot of people out there and some on here- that will sound like they have all the answers- but in fact they know nothing. There are people who have never bred anything- telling you al about breeding- people who have never showed a dog telling you all about showing-
people telling you about anything and everything.
There is a commercial on TV right now about a man who is flying a plane- you look down on the ground and there is a man on the ground waving his hands in a frantic manner. The man flying the plane announces to all in the plane that he has never flown a plane before and that the man on the ground
is the pilot. The catch is his comment that he did sleep in a brand name hotel last night. We have a lot of those pilots around here flying.
Newbies- that is why some of the threads turn into dog fights- feelings get hurt a lot of times - yours- that is not the intention. Some of us get upset and worried about you and the poor information that is being gave to you.
I have thought that some of these people that keep feeding out this garbage over and over are trying to make others fail.
Well Buster has a show this morning and I have to go and get him ready.
Please pardon my grumpy attitude and my like a teacher behavior. I am who I am- those who take the time have found that I am not that bad of a person and love to talk about this breed. |
