This is how I look at my particular situation. I see my hairstylist every 2 - 3 months for haircut and foil. With what I pay her she's making about $70.00/hr. She has her own Salon in her house. She works alone (no employees). Her overhead is minimal. Let's say she uses $10.00 in product (which I doubt, I'm sure it's much less) that's still $60.00/hr for her labor. She doesn't pay rent, if she does she's paying herself. The utility bill I'm sure is minimal especially since it's all part of her household expense. She's making pretty darn good money, a heck of a lot more than I make. I'm sorry but I really don't feel the need to tip her on top of it. Now if she had employees and I saw them, I would tip them as they are sharing their fee with her, big difference in my opinion.
