Generally speaking, there is a big difference between golden and chocolate yorkies and 'blue born' yorkies. There is a general difference of opinion as to whether the off colored Yorkies should be purposely bred. "Blue born" Yorkies on the other hand are quite a different scenario--they should NOT be "here to stay." They possess serious health issues and many times do not live a 'full, healthy life.' It is not just a 'different color' as with the chocs, goldens and partis--it is an illness. This is NOT a trait that should be purposely bred.
I think too that alot of times there is a misconception between referring to a dog as a "blue" Yorkie meaning a 'blue born' dog and blue Yorkie meaning standard coloring of a steel blue coat. The two are NOT the same.
