Here is the homemade equivalent to the low protein Hill's Prescription Diet. I am working towards home cooking and gathering a lot of information and the home-cooked equivalents to the prescription diets was in the info.....

1/4 lb. ground beef (regular not low fat) weigh after cooking
2 cups cooked white rice (without salt)
3 slices white bread
1 egg

Mix ingredients well, you can add a bit of water if it is too dry. For a 5 lb. yorkie feed 1/4 lb. a day. You will need to give a doggie vitamin daily for the micro nutrients.
