I put in several applications to rescue when I was wanting to add my third fur baby. It seem I was always a minute too late. I got my hopes up everytime and was so disappointed when they went to someone else. I started thinking you have to know someone in the organizations to rescue.
I ended up "buying" Ranger, although he was pretty much a rescue because he was a BIG boy and he was passed up by all the people wanting little bitty yorkies. The breeder sold him to me at a deeeep discount. I couldn't have rescued some of the ones I wanted for the same money.
