The pages aren't like myspace where you can get one picture to cover the page, you can do a lot with tile wallpaper to get special effects, and trim, and just use a picture type picture for the top, in the area called "main" of the "Customize Profile" page. Also in the area called main, there is a repeat option, and you have several choices, you can choose horizontal repeat, vertical repeat, both or none. You get different effects by choose different options of this. This link has some great tips on doing your profile page.
