I am so sorry that you had to go through that. I know exactly what you are talking about because about 1 month ago, Sadie woke up in the morning and stood up and started that breathing thing. She was gasping like she had something stuck in her throat and she was working so hard to breathe, her little body was shaking...I was so scared and could not imagine what was wrong. I grabbed her and put my finger down her throat (could not think to do anything else) and she would stop for a minute and then start again...I grabbed her up and off to the vet we went and like you, about 1/2 way there (we are about 30 miles) she just stopped and by the time we got to the vet, she was breathing normally. He could not find anything wrong and finally decided that she had either an allergy of some sort or had something stuck in her throat and it had dislodged and gone on down. My husband and I were thinking and he said the same thing...we have a down comforter and he thinks either she got a feather in her throat or nose. Her nose was also running. Crazy what these little babies can get into! My vet did not seem to think it had anything to do with a collapsed trachea and I so hope he was right. She has been fine since with no side effects nor has she had any more episodes like that!! I am praying that your Marcel will have none either!!!! |
