Several years ago Oprah had a show on tipping and she had her expert on and he said that it is not necessary to tip the owner of a Salon because he/she is getting what he/she has determined is needed to meet expenses plus profit. They don't pay themselves for their own chair as other stylists pay to the owner. So this is why I don't tip my stylist as she owns her own salon.
