My dog did this for about 2 weeks after she had vomitting spells.
Sounds kinda like dry heaving, right?
I still don't know why she did this, but it's only happened maybe twice in the last month.
Could it be acid reflux coming up at night? I really have no idea, but i'd definately talk to your vet about it.
