I litter trained Dudley when he was just 12 weeks old. Of course it took awhile. Be aware that any way you go they take awhile to "get it". I took him to the litter box every hour or so. When he went pee pee or poop, I praised him royally and gave him a treat. He learned to use the box pretty much all the time, but it did take time. I still give him treats to go potty in the box, just because he enjoys the excitement of the moment. Good luck and be VERY patient.
