My parents will be celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary on November 12. My mom has been hinting for years that she would like some sort of celebration. I want it to be a surprise party but I am somewhat limited on my money but I would like to do something nice for them. I want to throw a party at the house and have a nice dinner with a lot of family and friends. The thing is that I would like to give them a cruise to go along with the party. I looked it up earlier and managed to find a Balcony room on 4 star cruise for 4 nights for $600 for both of them. It seems great but with the party I don't have that kind of money. I was thinking that maybe instead of people bringing a gift they could put $10 per person towards the cause. The only thing is that I am not sure how to go about doing this. I need to send out the invitations soon and I would like some suggestions. If anyone has any ideas please let me know! I have a budget of about $700 to make all this happen. There will be about 40 people, I will be cooking so I am figuring about $300 for food $100 for decorations. Then the rest for other things that may come up. Anyone have any ideas of things I can do for them? Inexpensive party favor ideas? Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
