I've been giving my 4 month old Trevor Sentinel since he was 8 weeks old, but weighed about 1-1/2 pounds. I think we gave him 1/2 a pill which was for the 2-10 pound size. He now weighs about 6 1/2 pounds and I give him 1 pill. I've never seen any ill affects to taking it. But then again, he's only had 2 pills so far. We live where there are mosquitos almost year round, so we HAVE to give heartworm prevention.
