It was when I was outside of Madison, Wisconsin - and this place was selling apples and they had these little calves in these white, plastic, solid pens (not very hidden either). And they were chained a certain way to restrict movement (so as not to develop their muscles) - and they'd try to stand, but since they didn't really have developed muscles, they really couldn't. They were extremely confined, covered in their own filth, and couldn't really move. But, at the same time - adorable - bc you know what baby cows look like, just adorable.
