Default I have a question, have you an answer?

How is it that when a thread is started by someone asking for info about a particular breeder, people who have NEVER posted before (or very little) manage to find the thread and either give a rave review or a really bad one on the breeder and seem to have a really stong opinion one way or the other? Or someone joins YT, immediately finds that thread somewho and the very first (and sometimes only) post is a detailed account of their dealings with that breeder?

Not that there is anything wrong with that, but to me it just seems kind of odd? How much stock would you put into the info that person says, vs a long time member's advice?

Just curious...
I thought it was odd as well that people can find threads that quickly, and even have someone else come in as a happy customer and give a good review. BUT I usually like to take into consideration all perspectives if possible and try to put myself in that persons shoes. I mean, if I were a breeder and someone said something bad about me on a site, and perhaps someone (a happy customer or maybe just a friend) informed me that there is post about me somewhere that's not saying nice things. Then, I certainly would go there and check it out, and I think I would also try to say something in my own defense.

You know, I think people usually only take the time to leave a comment about someone if they had a bad experience. I don't mean that people with good experiences don't leave comments, I just mean that usually if you had a bad experience, you try to either warn others or you try to vent. Either way, there are more motivations for going online and leaving a review. Otherwise, you are just busy in general being really happy about your choice and enjoying your puppy. (Also, usually if you have something nice to say, you are probably more likely to say it directly to that person, instead of going to a forum and announcing it to the world. right?)

So, if you are a good breeder, and all of your customers are happy except for one in your many years of practice, and that person left a negative review of you in a public forum, what would be your best bet?

(I am not defending any particular breeder or whatever, I am not sure if there IS a specific one or specific one(s) that we are implying, it's not my point, I am just curious as to what WOULD BE appropriate to do if someone said something bad about you that is not true in a public forum like this?)
