I think PETA does bring to light a lot of important issues that we would never know about otherwise (I've never been on a dairy farm or on a pig or chicken farm, so I would never know how they are treated unless someone took the time to take photos and vidoes and make the public aware of it) but I also think they go about it in a weird way.
Like I remember reading a while ago about an anti-abortion place that mailed to hundreds of random people a plastic mini baby fetus (the size it would be in your body when you abort it) and a lot of people were really upset by that. In fact, a lot of the people they mailed it to were against abortions but they still thought it was disgusting and inappropriate.
So while I think PETA really does have the animals best interest at heart, they should go about their business in a little better way and maybe if they did, people would take them more seriously. It's not good when people think your organization is crazy or full of nut jobs. |
