I'm wondering if if could be reverse sneezing, which is common in Yorkies.

Does the coughing come when she's excited? Does it sound like a snort or a honk or gasping?

If so, try searching this forum for "reverse sneezing" or googling the term and see if those descriptions ring a bell.

If so, it's considered relatively harmless. Some people have said it could lead to problems, but for the most part it's nothing to be alarmed about.

One of mine does it, and I've found that if I stick my finger in his mouth and make him swallow, it stops.

Then again, there are side effects to bordatella vaccine. It seems like she'd be out of the woods for that if it's been a few weeks, but I don't know.

Let us know if you get to the bottom of it.
