Welcome to YT!! What a wonderful thing to do for your Yorkie baby. It's so hard to believe that anyone could abuse these little guys, they are so loving and sweet! Our Toto is 2 yrs old now and in the beginning we really wanted a small baby [which she is] but after we had her for just a short time ... heck, we didn't care if she grew to the size of a St. Bernard!!
I don't understand why size is such an issue for some people! Again, welcome, and the only advice I can offer is study, study and ask a bzillion questions. That sweet baby girl is out there for you!!
