[Mom to Hot Rod]

I need advice on how to stop my little escape artist. Maggie keeps jumping off the back of the sofa! It is about 40" high! I am afraid that she is going to break her leg one of these times. I have pillows behind the couch to catch her. The family room is gated off.

Here is what I have done.
Cans with coins - worked for awhile,
Duct Tape - I pulled out a lot of my own hair! ouch!
Pillows - hubby came home to Maggie sitting on top of one!

Should I--put her in expen every time she gets out? When I just put her back into the family room she still escapes. I don't want to put both her and Hot Rod in expen, I don't think that that is far to him but it is far to put her in there and leave him out?

The vet has suggested a type of invisible barrier. Any suggestions before going high tech?

She has just gotten out 2x since I am typing this!
