Two people have given you great suggestions, putting something you have worn in the crate and the snuggle puppy in the crate. The puppy is missing his mom and siblings that he has always slept with. Now he is in a strange place all alone so he has to be nervous . The snuggle puppy has a hearbeat and a warmer in it so it is the temp of his siblings.
Also, make sure you play with him a lot before bedtime so he is tired enough and hasn't been napping in the hours right before bedtime.
Also, he will need to get out at least once, maybe twice, during the night to go pee.
It won't take him too long to start liking his crate.
Leave the door open on the crate and keep a favorite toy or treat in there so he will learn to go in and out on his own and learn to like it more also.
