Hallee was doing this also. Her skin is very dry and she bites and scratches her hind quarters. She also had some brown spots on her tummy. We took her to the vet and he gave her some steroids and anti inflammatory medication to take. Was told it could take 2-3 rounds of this to clear it up. Vet said it had to do with Staph. We are on round 2 and she is doing better. The vet said she would have tore herself up scratching ect if we did not bring her in to try and clear this up. I am not sure if your yorkie is in the same situation but you might want to make a vet visit.
