There have been several update threads on this case; the latest news was that the animals are not being returned until the criminal charges have been answered, unfortunately the judicial process is a very slow one, but the animals are safe for now. The writer of the petition has sent copies to all the appropriate authorities, and promises to continue to do so, as more names are added. This site also post updates pertaining to this case. I am on their e-mail list, and I too will inform people if there is any news with this case.
