I feel so bad for you......I have my father and sister with me. We lost 4 houses in Bridge City. We found a local church here in Katy Tx. They are helping with food and gas money. Maybe if you found a church in the area you are in. Between them and YT members it has helped so much! We move everything out of my sisters house and father home. We save very little , mostly family photos on the walls and we dried a few photo albums. Its really hard. I heard 80% of the beaumont area has electricty. When we were there yesterday there were actually a few restuarants open. We gutted two houses and retreived a few items from two trailors. Mounds of my familys life sitting out for garbage.
My father broke down several times. I know it's hard but it puts it in perspective as we drove by the Bridge City bridges and search and rescue was searching for bodies in the marsh area. It was not my family that the canine rescue unit was searching for. It was not my entire family found in an attic on Fernwood in Bridge City. I am STILL blessed......Hurricane Ike did not take my family. Only stuff that can be replaced! God Bless your family and keep them in his hands. I'll pray for you! Pam K
