Board in training school are not the way to go for a family pet.. a working dog is a differnt story.
You want to do the training to build a bond and that dog wants to be with his family sending him off to who ever to train will put him at risk of trainers and others that do not train or respect dogs in the manner you as the owner does.
To train at home there are some really good books you can get on line and do it yourself. You do not need all of these at all to do a great job.
The last three are a really good start to understanding dogs as a whole and what they really are not what we tend to think them as.
