Is he still a puppy? Bella would get carsick everytime she was in the car, even less than 1 mile! After her first birthday though she outgrew it. Our vet gave us a medicine to give to her about 10mins before each car ride, and it lasted like 4 hours, can't remember the name of it, but I'm sure your vet would know what to give him. I've also been recommended benadryl, but I can't remember ever trying it.

In the meantime though I would recommend keeping him in a crate or carrier. We kept Bella in her carrier and put a peepad on the bottom of it, so that way we weren't constantly having to clean the car, or the carrier, and we always brought babywipes to wipe her up with after she got sick...it made the mess a lot easier to clean up, and trust me, I am not one for cleaning up puke! Usually I make a bigger mess myself just trying!
